After 30 years as a full-time employee, Mary Ann now sits on a couple of corporate boards and a regulatory board, chairs a think tank, presents occasional Radio 4 programmes, sits on the Council of Tate Modern, is a charity advisor and has been involved with a digital media start-up. She is well-equipped to advise on the perks and pitfalls of portfolio life.
