To warm us up: – the Idea Gallery, a strategic innovation company who create and collect great ideas, will introduce their work – including case studies on Hungry Mondays and Little Flowers. – Chloe Markowicz is Deputy Editor of Contagious Feed – a bespoke intelligence resource that delivers strategic insight into brands and agencies around the world, including Diageo, Mattel, Razorfish, and BBDO. In addition to Feed, Chloe contributes to the award-winning quarterly Contagious Magazine, providing in-depth case studies on major global brands, company profiles and trend analysis features. – we will hear from two extraordinary entrepreneurs – Avid Larizadeh, co-founder of the jewellery and accessories ‘marketplace’ brand Boticca (www.boticca.com), and David Hieatt, founder of the online jeans brand Hiut Denim (www.hiutdenim.co.uk) – and from Laura Lambert, founder of the new startup, Befittd ( www.befittd.com), on the challenges facing new companies and the lessons to be learnt. Bankrupt at 16. Thrown out of college at 18. Joined Saatchi and Saatchi at 21. Had a ball. Left advertising to go back to Wales. Started howies in 1995. Sold it to Timberland. Left. Started The Do Lectures, which was voted one of the top 10 ideas festivals in the world by the Guardian. It now takes place in Wales and California each year.

Started a restaurant called The 25 Mile, which sources its main ingredients from a 25 Mile radius. It is being rolled out down the west coast of Wales in the next year or so.

And last year stated a company making jeans called The Hiut Denim Co in his home town of Cardigan. A town that used to have Britain’s biggest jeans factory.
