Building on the success of our Student Life-Skills jamborees, we have programmed a nuts-and-bolts, back-to- basics two-day boot camp to meet the needs of students about to graduate and University graduates starting out on the job market.

With a team of brilliant coaches, we promise you the wisdom and advice you can get nowhere else.  Sign-up to take the despair out of job-hunting and ensure you stay ahead of the game.

 

Course Outline

The two day Boot Camp will start each day at 9.30am and finish at 5.30pm. There will be four 90 minute sessions per day with an hour’s lunch break in between.

How To: CVs – how to present and sell yourself. 

With Rachel Spedding, co-author of ” So you want to go to Oxbridge. Tell me about a banana”, formerly Managing Director of Oxbridge Applications and now of Bright Network which helps bright people make the right work connections.

 

How To: Internships – what they teach you, and how they help your career.

With Anastasia Baker. CEO of Intern Partnership, the career course counselling company which pays close attention to what companies are looking for in a candidate.

 

How To: Careers – choosing one, finding vacancies in your dream field and staying motivated as your job hunt progresses.

With Tanya de Grunwald, the founder of the graduate careers website Graduate Fog and author of ‘ How to Get a Graduate Job in a Recession”

 

How To: Network – networking and putting yourself out there in the right places.

With Judith Perle. Co- author of the Network Effect, a practical guide to making connections.

 

How To: Cover Letters – how to wow with a sheet of writing.

With Frances Wilson, a judge on the Man-Booker and Whitbread prizes and the author of four acclaimed biographies including The Ballad of Dorothy Wordsworth and How to Survive the Titanic.

 

How To: Interviews – what employers are looking for and how to steer the conversation.

With Edie Lush. Communication and personal development coach at Charlotte McDougall Associates. Edie runs all the How To Academy public speaking workshops

 

How To: Be Self-Employed – creating your own job and changing the current landscape.

With Jasmine Birtles.: Financial Journalist and TV personality as well as the editor of Moneymagpie.com, a leading website advising consumers on moneymaking as well as thrifty spending.

 

How To: Impress Recruitment Consultants.
